Tri Chats are short training updates to keep me in check!
I signed up for Miami Man, our local 70.3 distance race. It is on November 11th, two weeks after 70.3 Miami, the IronMan branded event. I chose to race Miami Man because I tend to enjoy events run by Multirace, and because I had a great experience on this flat but windy course last year.
The thing is that training for it begins July 1st. For the last six weeks, my Tri2One team has been in “base” mode, where they were building strength and endurance to get ready to peak for October/November races. For the last three of those I have been … well … on vacation. And on vacation means not following my TrainingPeaks emails, but doing what I can when I can. So, I expect I will have a lot of catching up to do, and will struggle to get back to the rhythm of things including waking up at 5:00am when I have been sleeping in until 8. Sigh.
I look forward to getting back to my routine, and to be training for an event since I have barely raced this year. With that said, its probably time to go get some rest and be ready for July 1st to get here in the morning.
